Principal Vacancy

Our principal is leaving and we are looking for another inspirational Catholic leader with a proven educational record, who will be committed to the Mercy values of St. Joseph’s and who will build on the current strengths of the school. We are seeking a visionary, caring leader with a passion for excellence to join our vibrant, multicultural school with a dedicated staff and supportive community.

The school has received two very positive 5 year ERO reviews in 2009 and 2014. In addition, the school has received a positive Catholic Character report in 2015. Key findings from these external reviews may be seen here.

St Joseph's was one of thirteen schools nationwide included in an Education Review Office study of effective self-review. The school was selected on the basis of high quality self-review practices identified in its 2014 ERO review. In November 2015 St Joseph’s Oracy programme was one of thirteen programmes showcased in an ERO report ‘Internal Evaluation: Good Practice’ (Pages 55-58) The findings of the report informed the joint Ministry of Education and ERO resource ‘Effective School Evaluation: How to do and use internal evaluation for improvement’.

We see the effective teaching of Oral Language as the foundation stone for learning and at the same time recognise the importance of e-learning in this digital age. Our most recent 2017 ESOL audit may also be seen here.
